Giving support to Chile after the earthquake and tsunami

Chilean coastal cities and towns are in ruins after the earthquake of 8.8 on the richter scale and the Tsnuami that hit soon after. Thousands of homes are destroyed, hundreds of people dead, wounded and lost, thousands of people are living without water and electricity is the real sympton of a zone where more than a million people live.

Today, Tuesday, the places affected are trying to return to normality, where it is possible to so. The army has installed hospital tents in the area, trucks are arriving with food, and the public transport is slowly returning.

In this context the Chilean Bible Society starts its campaign of collecting Chilean and International funds. Via Emails, Facebook, Internert and Twitter communicating our international and national bank accounts to recieve the donations.

We are channeling, the help of our volunteers in the first instance to give spiritual help, breakfasts and suppers to those people that are now living in the street due to the earthquake, specifically in the older areas of Santiago and other effected communities.

All our staff are fine and their homes are en pie, various members of staff are with their families where their homes have been much more effected.
