The weekend trip to rural Molina with 130 people in order to help with debris collection and distribution of food to a community where almost no aid has arrived.
The experience was exhausting and rewarding. Viajar more than 12 hours round trip to be just a weekend helping a place looks not very useful and intelligent for many, but the fact that the work was so intense and efficient than it paid penalty in terms of aid provided as personal experience gained.
Main Part of the work was the collection of debris and remove the tile s which are dangerous in a dozen adobe houses scattered along a long dusty road. To do always work in an organized fashion chain, where between 6-10 people spent the rubble of collapsed walls and deposited in a wheelbarrow.
On Saturday I happened to be almost three hours removing debris without stopping, along with a dozen volunteers. It was exciting to see the amount of debris that we took, and still more think that we could respond quickly to a task that would have demanded much time couple who lived in that house.
The food spread was rewarding because we were working closely with the board of residents who had a family registration and each living situation after the earthquake.
Give the love of God in person was something that needed with Rachel, my lady. He had seen pictures, prayed for the people by disseminating information, encouraging people to distance, and being there was the icing on the cake.
The task for me does not end there. It began a link with the rural community and therefore the plan is to re-visit. We already know the name of the people and their reality, now we want to see how they could return to normal, and add another grain of sand to their welfare.
The challenge for all is to give more than usual. Of course not everyone can go to ground, but if everyone can make an effort to give more than is comfortable, provide support to others as our own blood brother.
Being like Jesus is the challenge of every Christian. Reading the Bible is vital to know and soak up the example of Jesus Christ. Therefore, today more than ever reads and acts in our society who need a love that goes beyond self-interest, where it dies and turns agoísmo time and resources to give their lives for the brethren who need it most. Love does not wait. Do not wait for action.
